		<description>Actually, Free Agent compensation doesn&#039;t extend past December, or the beginning of the arbitration period.  Atlanta received no picks for Andruw Jones (a type B) because we didn&#039;t offer him arbitration.  SF didn&#039;t offer Bonds arbitration, so they can&#039;t receive any picks either.

As for the Bonds idea, it&#039;s forward-thinking, innovative, and indicative of a team serious about going for the kill in this division.  That&#039;s not the way I see our organizational leaders.  Lots of feel-goodery here in Atlanta; sort of an &quot;aw shucks, I hope we make the playoffs&quot; kind of roster construction.  That&#039;s why I think you&#039;ll never see Bonds in a Braves uniform.  I&#039;m not necessarily rooting for it to happen, but if it did, I think I&#039;d be VERY impressed with the management&#039;s style.  Whether it works or not really doesn&#039;t matter.  It&#039;s the spirit of the move that I&#039;d like to see from the team, whether it&#039;s Bonds or someone else.</description>
