Enough is enough. Seriously. Of our 7 loses, one, ONE has has been by more than one run. If this team is going to be successful, that stat is going to have to change. Of course, we need our pitchers to be healthy, our relievers to be effective and Tex to start hitting. If any one of those three happens, we’d probably lose less one run games.
The bad new of the day was Glavine. He was totally ineffective, then was pulled due to a sprained hamstring without getting a single out. The good news is, he is listed “day to day.” It seemed to be a pretty mild strain, he wasn’t even limping when he walked off the field. Hopefully he won’t miss a start. After Glavine’s injury, Bennett came in, battled some wildness, walking 4 (in a row), giving up 3 runs. Campillo, a recent call up, pitched two perfect innings, striking out three. Resop pitched the 7th, allowing only one hit. Boyer pitched the 8th, perfectly, striking out two. With the exception of Bennett, the pen had a pretty good day.
The bats did almost enough, but the pitchers left them a tall order. Chipper was the big hitter of the night, no real surprise there. He went three for five, driving in two with a 2 run shot. His batting average right now, a hair over .400. Tex seems to, slowly, be coming out of his dull drums. He notched two hits, one a double and scored a run. Escobar, doing what you would expect out of a lead off hitter (while our lead off hitter isn’t), he reached base 4 times. He had two hits to go with his 2 walks.
No game tomorrow. Tuesday’s game, 7:10 PM. Not nationally televised.

I feel the same way, the bullpen needs to step it up. It was a rough day with the bad first inning and Tom Glavine getting hurt. Anyways Go Braves, I think this team has loads of talent and will come around, they just need to put it all together at once.

I definitely agree with you. It seems like they are under-performing way too much right now.
