Game 32

We seem to be hitting on all cylinders at the moment. The starting pitching, even with the injuries has been great. The bullpen has been solid. Even the bats are starting to hit consistently. If it weren’t for four double plays, this game wouldn’t have been close. I know I’m sounding a little Pollyanna right now, but we are on a great streak and we need to ride it as long as we can.
Huddy really had a roller coaster of a performance, but in the end, he was good. In the second, a balk on Huddy brought inĀ a run, it looked like the game might be out of hand, but Huddy got out of the inning with no more damage. After that he calmed down, and rolled for a bit. In the end, he went seven innings, only allowing 2 runs (one from the bogus balk call). He was pulled for a pinch hitter, Boyer pitched an inning, perfectly. Closer by committee was once again the order of the day. Two pitchers pitched the ninth. Ohman got the first out, then Acosta got the last two for the save.
This is getting to be something of a broken record, but, once again, Chipper raised his average to .429 with two hits. McCann had the big bat of the night, three hits, one a double, and a run scored. Escobar also had two hits and drove one in. Norton got his first hit as a Brave as a pinch hitter to drive in a run.
Bobby got thrown out for the 137th time. He’s almost missed a season’s worth of games.
Tomorrow’s game, 1:00 PM. Not nationally televised.
