Game 34

Filed under: Recaps — rlgv @ 11:50 pm

Oh well, it was a good streak, but all streaks need to come to an end (I guess). As long as this isn’t the start of another lengthy losing streak, no harm done. I’m a little disappointed for Glavine, another great outing and nothing to show for it.

Glavine once again pitched well enough to get the win. But, both the bats and the relievers let him down. He went 7 quality innings, only giving up two runs on five hits. He did pitch in and out of trouble, but as long as you pitch out of it, it usually turns out OK. But, in his last inning, he gave up the go ahead run (it only took two). After Glavine, Ring got out the left hander, he’s getting good at that. It makes 10 scoreless outings in a row for him. Boyer pitched the remainder of the inning and didn’t allow a run to cross. Ohman pitched to one batter and got him out. Bennett, who has been great this year, unfortunately gave up the go ahead run.

The bats were left in the dugout tonight. KJ, Escobar, Chipper, Kotsay all got hung with 0 - for’s. Really the only Brave swinging a good bat tonight was McCann who had three hits. Frenchy knocked in all the RBI’s tonight, both of them

Tomorrow’s game, 7:05 PM. Not nationally televised.
