Game 42

Filed under: Recaps — rlgv @ 10:04 pm

No come-from-behind win tonight, in fact, no win at all. This A’s pitcher we faced, when healthy, can be fantastic, and tonight, he was. He pretty much dominated us, but then, so did their pen. We just never really got going, until it was too late.

Huddy got off to a rough start. In the first two innings, he gave up 5 runs. After that, he did settle down, but it was just too late (with the anemic bats). He only managed five innings, gave up two home runs, and walked five. The pen was great tonight, Ring went .2 innings, did give up a couple hits (one of them an infield slow roller, so it doesn’t count) but none of his runners crossed thanks to Resop, who ended the inning. Resop went on to pitch two more great innings, not giving up a hit. We got our first look at Phil Stockman and he impressed. The big Aussie pitched a perfect ninth.

The bats were just bewildered tonight, until the ninth. The ninth we hit the ball well, just not quite well enough, giving us another one run loss. Tex managed two hits tonight, I dare not say “he may be heating up.” KJ hit a long triple.

Tomorrow’s game, 1:35 PM. Not nationally televised.

  1. I’d have rather seen them lose by 4 than 1.
