Another day, more late inning heroics give the Braves a win. I’d like to get back to the scoring seven runs in the first and just cruising for the last nine. I find those games less stressful. But, I got to say, if a double in the eighth is what it takes to win, I won’t object!
Campy struggled, just a little. He is a feel pitcher and with the blisters, then the calluses, then the splitting calluses, then the lotion, its not really a stretch to say the feel just wasn’t quite there. He still managed to give us four, not too bad innings. He did give up four runs in four innings rocketing his ERA to 1.79, YIKES. Bennett gave us three great innings, only allowing one hit and striking out four. What a life saver he was today! Ohman pitched an inning, one hit, no runs. That was enough for the win. Soriano looked sharp in his perfect inning for the save.
We only managed six hits, but thanks to eight walks, six hits was enough for the win. Chipper was (again) the best hitter of the night. His first inning three run home run and his single later was enough to life his average to .409. The other big blow game from an unlikely source, Greg Norton. He doubled in the winning runs in the eighth.
Brave win, in come from behind fashion, 5 - 4.
Tomorrow’s game, 1:05 PM. Not nationally televised.

Smoltz could be done! Oh no. He’s content with it, but we could really use him as every year.
