Game 68

This game seemed to be lost before it started when Chipper Jones had to be scratched from the line-up after taking a ball off the eye during batting practice.

But thanks to the brilliant performance of JoJo Reyes tonight, the Braves were able to win their first game without Chipper in the line-up on the year. JoJo was excellent tonight. He went 8 strong innings, allowing only 2 runs to score. He only allowed 5 hits and walked a pair while striking out 5 Angels. Bennett came on in the ninth and recorded the save.

The bats actually showed up tonight. The Braves got 15 hits tonight. Teixeira and Blanco led the way with 3 hits apiece. Escobar, McCann, Frenchy, and Brandon Jones each had a pair of hits.

Brave win on the road and without Chipper, 5-2.

Tomorrow’s game and Major League Debut of Charlie Morton is at 9:05. Not nationally televised.
