Seriously, is this the best the team can do in support of Jojo? Of course, without Chipper in the lineup Tex is the only real threat…. and he was walked three times (twice intentionally). We need Chipper or Kotsay or Diaz or Escobar back in the line up.

Jojo pitched a great game, he really did. Over seven innings he gave up six hit, only one run and kept his weakness (walks) to a minimum. This season he has really established himself as a Braves starter of the future. The pen did a good job tonight. Boyer pitched a scoreless inning.

The downfall of this game was behind the plate. Blanco had another good night with two hits…. and that’s about it for the team. We managed five hits, only one for extra bases.

Braves lose 0 - 1.

No game tomorrow. Tuesday’s game 7:10 PM. Not nationally televised.

  1. I will continue to remain optimistic as long as our starting pitching remains strong and the Phillies don’t run away with the NL East race. Four teams remain in serious contention. If the Braves bats wake up, especially Frenchy, the Braves could run off five or six straight wins and jump right to the front of the pack. Let’s Go Braves!

  2. I’m trying to remain optimistic, too, Jones, but it seems like this team is constantly underperforming. So much to the point where it seems like that is their normal type of play, which is disheartening to say the least.
