Game 137

Okay, so this team has seen better days. The Braves lost the series against the Nationals (read: the worst team in the Major Leagues [debatable]) on Sunday afternoon. Not only did they lose, but they got swept. It’s games like these that make me question why the drinking age is 21.
So, onto this awesome game. Jurrjens started, and the Braves got out of him what we see nearly every week: pretty good pitching. He went 6 innings, 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Boyer relieved him with a perfect inning and a strikeout. Dessens, making his second appearance for Atlanta, sucked royally. He lasted 1/3rd of an inning, gave up 4 hits, 5 runs, and walked and struck out 1. Ohman followed and struck out two batters. The bullpen blew it, plain and simple, but somebody has to lose these games for Atlanta, know what I mean?
Hitting wasn’t too bad for this team. They scored their usual ‘around 3′ runs for the game, courtesy of a 3-run homer by WGC and an RBI single by Infante. Great players. Prado and the two players just mentioned each had two hits, and McCann and Francoeur each had one. Just not enough, not enough.
Braves lose, and bears defecate in the woods, 8 – 4.
