Game 150

If only we had played this well when we were in the hunt, this season may have gone differently. But, hopefully, we will play a small role in spoiling the Mets.
Campy was not on his game today, but you have to admit, he has been a hell of a find. He gave us only 3.2 innings, allowing eight hits and three runs. Not his best outing. Lucky for us, the pen was solid, in 5.1 innings, they didn’t give up a run. Bennett, Ohman, Tavarez, Julio, and Gonzo got the job done and Gonzo got the save.
The hits were really spread out today. In fact, the only Brave to manage more than on was Chipper with three, despite the Braves getting 11 hits. The big blow was by Greg Norton, a three run shot in the ninth.
Braves win, 7 – 4.

It was nice to see Chipper get that at-bat in the last inning for a single. 3-for-5 on the day, not too bad, not too bad at all.
And great come-from-behind win. I was fist-pumping like crazy when Norton hit that ball.

Great win, indeed. Bravos are playing much better of late, winning eight of 12. More importantly, they’re getting clutch hitting late in games. When the bullpen doesn’t mess things up — and they didn’t Sunday — they’re doing good things.
Ned Yost fired yesterday as Brewers’ manager. Say hello to the next manager of the Braves.

Ugh, a brutal performance by the bullpen last night. Philly’s a heck of a great hitting team, but you’ve got to make good pitches in tight games late. Bravos simply didn’t do that. Tough loss, especially after building the three-run lead.
Hopefully Jurrjens can get his 14th W tonight.
