Braves Report

Game 156

by rlgv on Sep.21, 2008, under Recaps

It seems the only team we can beat on a regular basis is the Mets. That is good when we play the Mets, not so got when we play any other team. Well, taking two of three from them this close to the end of the season is nice.

It would be easy to criticize Parr for a poor outing, but there was a pretty fair amount of evidence he wasn’t 100%. I’m not sure what was wrong, but the announcers commented he didn’t “seem right” before the game, and when Bobby came out to talk to him, Jeff Porter came with him, which means the reason for the trip was medical. He only went 1.2 innings, giving up 4 runs. When your starter only goes 1.2 innings, the pen will have a lot of work to do. Carlyle got out of the inning. Nunez and Morton each went two scoreless innings. Acosta and Julio each went one. Gonzo got the save, but gave up two runs.

Eleven hits today, but the bulk of them can be claimed by two Braves. Prado had three hits and three RBI. Frenchy also had three hits and two runs scored.

Braves win, 7 – 6
